“Pecorino & Pecorini” culinary event
The creativity of the cheesemakers on the eastern side of the Gran Sasso has given rise to a one-of-a-kind gastronomic product, highly appreciated beyond the region: Farindola pecorino cheese made with pork rennet, which also takes center stage at the event organized by the Cultural Association La Zanzara. In the squares of the picturesque historic center of the mountain village, visitors can explore the dairies of the Pecorino di Farindola Protection Consortium and several Abruzzo wineries, with professional sommeliers on hand to suggest perfect wine and cheese pairings. The event also offers tastings of honey, biscuits, handmade chocolate, craft beers, local olive oil, and homemade bread, all while taking a journey through historical traditions and table delicacies, guided by master chocolatier Ezio Centini.
